Made of 18K gold and inlaid with diamonds, the lenses are made of emeralds, according to company spokesman Albert Bensimon. Finding the unique emeralds took 5 years, and the cutting and polishing took 3 months. There is no other pair like it in the world, and they are guarded by security guards when on display. Reportedly, the Roman emperor Nero liked to wear glasses like these and view the world through green gemstones.
