Extravagant Wines You Can’t Afford

Date

Whether it’s after a long, stress-filled day at the office or during an amazing seven-course dinner, a glass of wine is the perfect way to lift up the spirits. From a crisp and refreshing Riesling to a full-bodied cabernet sauvignon, there are a multitude of choices to satisfy every taste and bank account. Here are the 10 most expensive wines in the world.

Screaming Eagle Cabernet, 1992: $500,000

Topping the list of most expensive wines in the world, the 1992 Screaming Eagle Cabernet fetched a cool half-million dollars at auction. Granted, this was a charity auction so the price may be inflated somewhat, but the wine itself was highly rated and produced in limited quantities. The imperial bottle (six liters) was sold at the Napa Valley Wine Auction in 2000, from one of the 175 cases ever produced.
