Longue Vue House and Gardens

You can’t stay, but the Longue Vue House and Gardens offer a replete view of how New Orleans society once lived (and some still do). Once the home of Edith and Edgar Stern, the home has themed gardens and lavish interiors. Ever met someone who owned a Picasso? It’s still on the wall, along with a gallery of works from other famous artists. Each exterior wall has a different appearance and its own garden. The Longue Vue House is a historical treasure of New Orleans.

The Sazerac Bar

Plenty of people hit the French Quarter for boozy times, but cocktails taste best in the elegant bar at the Sazerac. It’s nestled into the luxurious Roosevelt Hotel but still has karaoke in private rooms. And if it looks like most of the patrons are drinking the same bright rye whiskey cocktail, why that’s NOLA’s official mixture. It’s named Sazerac, after the destination boutique bar where it was created.
