Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon Finished in Port Barrels

Angel’s Envy

Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon was the last release of renowned master distiller Lincoln Henderson of Angel’s Envy in 2012. He passed away in 2013. His final work, this cask-strength, port-barrel-finished bourbon, means he has gone out with a bang. It is everything a bourbon-lover could ask for: complexity, boldness, with banana and rich dark chocolate on the palate.

Angel’s Envy

This bourbon spent six years inside ruby port barrels made of French oak that came straight from Portugal, and it wasn’t for naught. This batch is worth the $180 it runs at, 124 proof and all.

Maker’s 46

Maker’s Mark

Up until 2010, Maker’s Mark ran the same whiskey product since 1958. Then, it 2010, it made a bold move with its release of Maker’s 46, catching everyone by surprise. Skeptics ran amok, but to their dismay, this new Maker’s product was a hit, but not to the pocketbook, as it goes for just $40 a bottle.

Maker’s Mark

What people knew and loved about the classic Maker’s product was made more intense for 46, with richer notes of spice, vanilla, and caramel to add complexity and a fuller mouthfeel and finish.
